We Dont Do Life Alone

On Friendship

Disclaimer…. The pic is an illustration of the text!

I got a lengthy text from a friend this morning. Life is a bit difficult right now with some health issues, and it’s hard on our marriage. She texted later to say, “I’m sorry; maybe I shouldn’t have shared so much!” My eyes leaked. For it is this very reason that friendship and connection are so important in life. It is the opportunity to be Jesus with skin on. It’s the opportunity to share in life with someone. It’s the opportunity to see life through someone else’s lens.

I’m so grateful for the friendships that create a shelter for me—a safe place to run and find my God with open arms.

I like this picture. I look at it see the shelter of a cave, but in that cave is the shelter of my friend. She has been Jesus with skin to me many times in life.

We don’t do life alone.

A beautiful way to start a day

A simple Saturday Morning  sunrise

 ·

This morning started simple, wondering what does the day look like? Unexpected gratitude rose up as I realized I was grateful to wake, have coffee with my husband, and even more realizing I was facing east.

Every morning, the sun rises in the east — steady and sure. No matter what happened yesterday or how long the night felt, light always returns.

When I watch the sunrise, I’m reminded that God is already there, waiting. Im not asked to have it all figured out — just to turn my heart toward God, the way the earth turns toward the sun.

Each sunrise is a quiet invitation to gratitude. A reminder that I woke up, that breath fills my lungs, that grace still covers my life. In that light, I hear the whisper: “I make all things new — even you.”

So I pause, take it in, and let the warmth of the morning soften what’s heavy inside. Today, I’ll live with thankfulness and lift my face toward the Light — trusting God’s goodness to rise within me again.
