Mary Jo Zeller, Selah Retreat
I thought a women’s retreat meant being silent and listening to Sister Mary pray.
I was SO wrong! Five years ago I attended a retreat sponsored by Rooted & Connected. It was my first ever retreat and I was definitely out of my comfort zone, I had no idea what to expect. Honestly, I was somewhat fearful. I had recently relocated to a new state, new job, and freshly divorced.
It was not a mega convention or a large church event. It was an intimate group of women who were in all stages of life, but despite our differences, we made a connection. I felt no judgement or pressure to share my story. I participated as I felt comfortable and I was made to feel welcomed. Instead of feeling out of place, I felt very relaxed and pampered.
Rooted & Connected’s mission is to uplift and inspire women of all ages through intimate retreats, combining the value of connection, growth, and the love of God. Empowering women to navigate life’s challenges with strength, resilience, and grace.
I truly came away with new friends and feeling lighter than when I went. It was a weekend I will never forget.
Lori Smith, Grandparent’s Legacy Retreat
I attended the grandparents retreat at Lake of the Ozarks. I didn’t know what to expect, but what I experienced was a well thought out meaningful event.
We arrived Friday and had a most delicious dinner and great fellowship with ladies who all have so much in common as grandparents. They had a few great surprises! I can’t say enough about how special it made me feel when we all were reminiscing about our lives and our grandparents. We woke up to a wonderful breakfast, and fulfilling conversation.
In the short time we spent together I left feeling like I gained a new appreciation for grand parenting and I got to share about my “perfect” grandkids.
